The local congregation in this little town has a big party outside the night the new broadcast is released. They have a projector and take it outside to watch it after they all have a pot luck. The elderly would be out of luck if they didn't do this. So I can understand her irritation and hurt. You go granny JW's!

Remember the two elderly sisters?
by John Aquila inabout a month ago i posted what had happened to two elderly sisters who were reprimanded by a couple of elders for crying because the jw broadcasting was going to be stopped at the kingdom hall and it was up to each publisher to learn how to use the internet.
if you recall the sisters got together with my mom and talked about it and it resulted in all of them declining to make meals for the pioneers.

by Olivia Wilde ini am still attending the kh, i actually recently became aware of the ttatt, what i believed came as a huge surprised for me, i wasn't raised as a jw and have been for about 15 years.
i have always been a very open minded individual all my life always seeing both sides of any situation with logic and common sense and so i believe discovering all of the doctrines i have been taught sense 16 years of age, wasn't extremely hard for me to realize in my heart it was a lie.
well it was me discovering the watchtower society being a ngo member of the un nations for 10 years, after that the snowball just got bigger for me.

The tendency of some is to "go wild" because they have freedom from JW rules and regulations. Don't "go wild". You don't need to get drunk to have a good time. You don't need to use drugs to have a good time. You just can't condemn those who do it in moderation and don't harm you or others. I think you are not so sheltered you don't know what life is like among the "worldly" people. Just use good sense. The best advice was a part time job if possible. You will make a bit of money and make friends I am sure. Use your freedom wisely and don't confide in any of the congregation members, kids or otherwise, if they are "true believers." Welcome! -

Every word is condescending and meant to sound superior as if Jehovah were speaking through their mouth. Of course you do! You have championed the TTATT and now it has come home to bring such sweet relief. We haven't been petty or vindictive in exposing the bullsh*t and you did what was needed. They weren't wounded, they were called out on their hubris. Don't feel bad. They will sing the songs at the meeting and keep handing out the tracts or standing mutely by the literature cart like before, but perhaps the slap will make them watch the RC this Friday.
